
January 19, Minsk. The increased level of terrorist danger in Baikonur has been extended until February 3 due to information about the emergence of a threat of a terrorist attack. This is stated in the message on the website of the city administration, reports TASS.
"In connection with the information received from law enforcement agencies about the emergence of a threat of a terrorist act and the organization of activities to counteract its commission, the chairman of the anti-terrorist commission of the city of Baikonur, the head of the administration K.D. Busygin, it was decided to establish an increased (blue) level of terrorist threat on the territory of Baikonur for a period of 15 days from 12:00 on January 19, 2022 to 12:00 on February 3, 2022," the message reads.
Earlier, the administration of the city of Baikonur, against the backdrop of mass protests in Kazakhstan, introduced an increased (blue) level of terrorist threat, which was in effect from January 7 to 19. Temporary restrictions were put in place in the city, including nighttime travel and the sale of alcohol. The city administration urged residents to remain calm and not succumb to panic and rumors.
