Why do we enjoy watching short videos on TIKTOK or YouTube so much? And what's the catch in the pleasure we get from this? Psychotherapist DOCTOR of Medical Sciences Tatyana Yemelyantseva spoke about what you have to pay for "free" dopamine in the BELTA project "In the Topic. Health".
- How long can you watch short videos?
- it all depends on age. Short videos give more of a dopamine effect, that is, they are cool. Bloggers lie very often... There are adequate ones. But in my circle, I do not see any of the recognized specialists I know blogging - they do not need it. And there are so many patients, people who want to get an appointment. That is, in fact, professionals do not need to earn likes, to gain quick authority. It takes a long time to become a respected person.
There are a lot of lies, a lot, including on the topic of ADHD. A person with ADHD has a lot of strong feelings inside, he will never put his problems on display. That is, consider that there is simply deception.Attracting attention - yes, it's cool, a dose of dopamine. But it works in a flash. After all, we get dopamine when we achieve success. And it turns out that there is an information overload. HowALCOHOL - people want to drink to have a joyful mood. But then depression, hangover. Same here: clip thinking, short videos get you hooked on dopamine just like with alcohol, another type of addiction.
- Very seriously.
- This is too serious. And perhaps it's time to think about it.
- It would seem that a child is sitting on TikTok, smiling, laughing.
- He's doing the wrong thing. Those with ADHD, and any person, when the pace of life is tense, should have some kind of resource states, the same dopamine. Watch a movie, listen to pleasant music, meet with friends. There should be something pleasant in this life, we should recover. But definitely not on TikTok.
