All sugar factories in the Lipetsk region have started processing sugar beet

More than 80 thousand tons of sugar were obtained from the beetroot of the new crop.
To date, all six sugar factories in the region are operating. They processed more than 600 thousand tons of sweet roots. 83.6 thousand tons of sugar were produced.
Despite the bad weather, Lipetsk farmers provide the plants with raw materials. Sugar beet harvesting is carried out in 13 districts. More than 580 thousand tons have been dug up. “The yield of sugar beets this year is a quarter more than last year,” said Igor Kremnev, Deputy Governor of the Lipetsk Region. – Now it is more than 395 centners per hectare. The region provides itself with a reserve of sugar: it is produced 14 times more than our population needs according to the consumption rates recommended by the Ministry of Health. Most of the sugar is supplied to other regions of the country.”
In parallel with the production of sugar, the Dobrinsky Sugar Plant stores syrup for its subsequent processing into sugar when the main season is completed. At the moment, 8.5 thousand cubic meters of syrup have been received. Also, 11.5 thousand pulp and 7.4 thousand tons of molasses were produced.
