Harvesting campaign launched in Voronezh region

For the first ten days of July, 11 districts have already started harvesting grain and leguminous crops. The ripening of winter and spring barley accelerated due to hot weather.
Already today, 10.4 thousand hectares of grain and leguminous crops have been threshed. The gross harvest reached 40,000 tons in the initial recorded weight with a yield of 29.4 q/ha.
The highest yield is observed in Podgorensky (56.6 c/ha), Liskinsky (52 c/ha), Khokholsky (50 c/ha), Kalacheevsky (45.9 c/ha), Olkhovatsky (41.5 c/ha) and Bogucharsky (40.1 q/ha) districts.
In total, 1 million 581 thousand hectares of grain and leguminous crops (winter crops - 810 thousand hectares, spring crops - 771 thousand hectares) were sown in the Voronezh region for the harvest of 2022.
The postponement of the campaign was due to the climatic conditions of spring. Due to the cold weather, the sowing of spring crops this year started two weeks later than usual. In addition, abnormally low temperatures in the spring of 2022 had a negative impact on the development of winter crops. However, the timely feeding work corrected the situation.
In the course of harvesting, special attention is paid to compliance with fire safety rules and the prevention of fires on agricultural land.
