The second stream of the "Farmer's School" starts in the Sverdlovsk region

The Farmer's School is a project designed to give all the necessary knowledge to the people of the Urals who want to open and run their own business in agriculture.

“This is a great opportunity both for those who are already engaged in agriculture and for beginner farmers to learn how to build an effective farming business,” said Artem Alexandrovich Bakhterev, Minister of Agro-Industrial Complex and Food of the Sverdlovsk Region.

During the competitive selection period, more than 40 applications for training were received from farmers from Sysert, Tugulym, Bogdanovichevsky, Irbitsky, Talitsky, Kamensky districts. More than half of the students of the new stream of the "School of the Farmer" are women with higher education

The course program involves gaining knowledge in economics, management, marketing, personnel issues, jurisprudence and, of course, specialized branches of agriculture - dairy and beef cattle breeding, as well as crop production.

The main part of the classes will be conducted by leading scientists of the Ural State Agrarian University and the Ural Federal Agricultural Research Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

“We have seriously approached the development of the curriculum, which involves the assimilation of a large amount of information, including also a practical block. Novice farmers will undergo free training at the Ural Agrarian University for two months. The 253-hour professional retraining program includes not only lectures and field trips to agricultural enterprises, but also the development of your own business plan for creating and developing a profitable agricultural business. The classes will be conducted by leading scientists of the university, production workers and business representatives - people who have rich scientific and practical experience behind them," said the rector of USAU, DOCTOR of Biological Sciences, Professor Olga Gennadievna Loretts.

Students will receive theoretical and practical training: they will study the legal aspects of the work of farms, financial business models, get acquainted with the latest agricultural technologies, receive training at leading enterprises in the industry, and learn how to cooperate with large holdings. And the course will end with the defense of business plans. The most talented graduates receive a grant from the Russian Agricultural Bank for the creation and development of their farms.

“The Farmer's School is a unique project. People of different ages come to us to study, from 25 to 60 years old, because farming is not a profession, it is a way of life. In the new stream, more than half of the applications came to us from women farmers. This makes me happy. I am sure that those who can harmoniously combine family and business achieve success in agriculture. The family plays a huge supportive role for farmers, and the woman is the key link in the family. I would like to wish new trainees to be trained easily, with pleasure and successfully implement the acquired knowledge,” said Tatyana Nikolaevna Shilova, DIRECTOR of the Sverdlovsk branch of Rosselkhozbank.

It is worth noting that the "Farmer's School" these days starts in 25 regions of the country. In 9 of them for the first time - in the Altai Territory, the Republics of Adygea and Mari El, Irkutsk, Kaliningrad, Kirov, Nizhny Novgorod, Novgorod and Tomsk regions. Thanks to the accession of new regions to the project, its total geography has grown to 50. In the Sverdlovsk region, this is the second flow of listeners.
