Cleaning of lavender and sage takes place in Crimea

In Crimea, lavender and sage are being harvested. This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea Yuri Migal. This year, it is planned to harvest about a thousand tons of raw materials of perennial essential oil crops in the republic, which corresponds to the level of last year.
“In addition to grains, vegetables and fruits, the republic is also actively harvesting essential oil crops. Now lavender and sage are harvested in the Crimean fields. About 270 tons of lavender and 102 tons of sage have already been harvested. The collection of these crops takes place at Turgenevskaya Agrofirma LLC and Lavanda LLC. A little later, the harvesting of these crops will begin at Zelenogorsk AF LLC, the minister said. The head of the Crimean Ministry of Agriculture noted that the soil and climatic conditions of Crimea allow the cultivation of a wide range of essential oil crops. The Republic of Crimea is a region from which the revival of the Russian industry as a whole can begin. In addition, the cultivation of such plants is possible in almost the entire territory of the peninsula.
“The dynamic development of this area was facilitated, among other things, by state support, thanks to which more than 400 hectares of essential oil crops were planted. This year it is planned to plant 46 hectares of narrow-leaved lavender and essential oil roses,” said Yuriy Migal.
Last year, essential oil enterprises of the republics produced more than 860 tons of raw materials: clary sage, narrow-leaved lavender, essential oil rose.
