In Chuvashia, 608 units of agricultural machinery were purchased with state support

The Deputy Prime Minister discussed state support for the agricultural industry and rural development with farmers and industry activists,Minister of Agriculture of Chuvashia Sergei Artamonov during a working visit to the Komsomolsky District.
“Before the start of the sowing campaign, I plan to hold meetings with the activists of each district to discuss plans and tasks. Only locally can one understand how the village lives, what the residents need. Next on the work schedule is Komsomolsky. In some places the region is a leader, in others it is inferior, so it is important to hear the initiatives of agribusiness - what to change in state support so that work in the sector becomes even more efficient,” noted Sergei Artamonov.
According to preliminary calculations, the index of physical volume of agricultural production at the end of 2023 in Chuvashia will be 100.3%. Here, the Komsomolsky District is among the top 5 districts that provided this indicator.
Positive dynamics were also noted in MILK production, potato and vegetable yields. The profitability of local farms is decent - 26.9% against the national average of 17.7%.
The Komsomolsk District became the leader in terms of energy supply. According to the HEAD of the Komsomolsk municipal district, Nikolai Raskin, the total engine power of all tractors, combines and self-propelled machines used in sown areas at the end of the year amounted to 59.7 thousand horsepower.
In Chuvashia, the fleet of agricultural machinery began to be actively updated in 2020, after the introduction of a technical modernization program, under which agricultural producers are reimbursed 35-45% of the cost of equipment from the state.
At the end of 2023, with such a subsidy, 608 units of special vehicles were purchased for the fields and farms of the republic, the volume of compensated funds from the budget amounted to 1 billion rubles.
When discussing the results of the year, it was indicated where the Komsomolsk District needs to catch up - here the average milk yield per cow, grain yield and MEAT production are less than in the general republic.
“If there are any obstacles or difficulties in obtaining government support in areas, please tell us. It’s important to hear feedback,” Deputy Prime Minister of Chuvashia Sergei Artamonov urged farmers to share their initiatives.
The farmers proposed including forklifts and drying drums in the technical modernization program. The idea was also voiced that Chuvashkhleboproduct would provide for the purchase of vehicles for transporting grain after the completion of the reconstruction of the Kanashsky elevator. “For the southern part of Chuvashia this is necessary; transporting it to Cheboksary by private owners is expensive,” noted the meeting participants.
Separately, Sergei Artamonov focused on the implementation of the republican program to support the self-employed with personal subsidiary plots. The topic was discussed both at a meeting with agricultural entrepreneurs and at a meeting with employees of the largest local agricultural company “Glory to Potatoes”.
At the end of 2023, in the Komsomolsk District, only 5 self-employed people received such support, while a total of 1,508 applications were approved throughout the republic, and these mechanisms are in great demand from neighboring districts.
“There is an obvious flaw here - it means you don’t meet with the population and don’t talk about the new program. Any citizen can become self-employed - a teacher, a pensioner, a cultural worker, most importantly - not an official. The state practically gives everyone 3 cows, reimburses 40% for agricultural machinery, beekeeping products, 50% for agricultural chemical inspection of soils, laboratory testing of seeds and more. Such measures can and should be used to strengthen the district’s economy and improve the well-being of residents. We need to step up efforts in this direction and carry out explanatory work,” Sergei Artamonov urged Nikolai Raskin.
At the end of the visit, Sergei Artamonov inspected the meat processing workshop under construction in the district. This site is planned to open in the summer and can become a full-fledged aggregator of meat products in the region.
