Tambov region increased meat production

According to the results of eight months of 2022, enterprises of the Tambov region increased MEAT production by 6% compared to the same period last year. In absolute terms, this is almost 420 thousand tons of meat in live weight.
In the structure of production, the largest volume is pork and poultry. So, in eight months, pork production exceeded 147 thousand tons (100.4% compared to 2021).
A more active growth in production is noted in the poultry meat industry. In January-August, the poultry enterprises of the region produced almost 252 thousand tons of meat (110.7% compared to 2021).
“This year we plan to produce at least 630,000 tons of meat, which is more than last year,” said Maxim Egorov, HEAD of the Tambov Region. “In the current conditions, we are doing everything necessary to improve the country's food security and increase the competitiveness of Tambov products in the domestic and foreign markets.”
