In this video we will show the results of the reconstruction of a farm from the late Soviet period, as well as the process of carrying out maintenance of automated milking equipment.
LLC “First May” in the Udmurt Republic is the legal successor of the collective farm of the same name and has been operating since 1930. Recently, the company decided to use the services of the Artemis company to update and reconstruct one of the barns.
Total cattle populationat the time of filming there were 1800 cows, of which about 1000 were milking herds. Initially, the cows were kept in a tethered manner, but gradually the enterprise is switching to free-stall housing. The average daily milk yield was 20 tons of milk with a fat content of 3.8-4.0 percent. In addition, the enterprise has the status of a breeding reproducer for the Holstein cattle breed. Insemination is carried out only artificially. Milk is sold to processors.
The company began the transition to robotic milking in order to minimize the influence of the human factor on the quality of milk , and hence profitability. The cost of reconstructing a housing for 140 heads for loose housing was 40 million rubles, which is 2 times less than building a new one.
During our filming, a service department was working on the territory, which carried out comprehensive maintenance (TO-1) of the “Magic” milking robot from the PromTekhnika company. The service department not only attends scheduled maintenance and repair work, but also monitors the performance of milking equipment in real time using modern technologies and a sensor system.
The structure of the housing for cows was built at the end of the Soviet period, and has dimensions of 72x21 m. The building was originally designed for tethered housing of cows, and was subsequently converted into a modern automated free-stall dairy farm.
In the ventilation system, our attention was drawn to the turbo deflector, which, according to experts, has proven itself well, since it does not require any electrical power, and due to the pressure difference, air, including moisture, is naturally extracted.
The “Wizard” milking robot has a “post-selection” when the robot, based on the results of milking in automatic mode, according to the established parameters, transfers the cow to the calving pen. For example, when the first streams are milked and mastitis is detected, the robot does not milk such a cow, but immediately transfers it to quarantine , where specialists are already working.
