Roskachestvo has certified the first enterprise in the North Caucasus Federal District producing organic apples. it was the organic liability company “Rich Harvest” from the Chereksky district of Kabardino-Balkaria.
The enterprise is included in the Unified State Register of Manufacturers of Organic Products, which is maintained by the Russian Ministry of Agriculture and is posted on the website of the federal agricultural department. Now the company can label its products, in particular apples, with a special sign “Organic” (a white sheet on a light green background).
“The APPLE orchard with an area of ​​35 hectares is located on the slopes in the village of Aushiger at an altitude of 800 meters above sea level. We grow 4 varieties of apple trees. There is clean air here, a lot of sun, so our apples have a special taste. Last year, the apple harvest amounted to 400 tons; we sell fruit products not only in Kabardino-Balkaria, but also send them to other regions of RUSSIA, mainly to Moscow,” explained Zulkarney Baidaev, HEAD of Bogaty Harozh LLC.
Kabardino-Balkaria is one of the leaders in the production of fruit and berry products in the country, and now the region can boast of apples with “Organic” status.
Obtaining an organic certificate means that the farm does not use pesticides, agrochemicals, synthetic mineral fertilizers, hormonal drugs, GMOs and food additives, or other substances prohibited in organic agriculture in the production of products.
In addition to Bogaty Harozh LLC, the register of producers of organic products includes two enterprises in the ALCOHOL industry of Kabardino-Balkaria - Premium LLC and Elbrus Spirits, which are located in the Zolsky district and the city of Chegem, respectively.
