In the Chelyabinsk region, the collection of applications for subsidies for the purchase of seeds has been completed. By the end of March, funds allocated from the regional budget for these purposes will arrive in the recipients’ accounts.
“For agricultural enterprises, the most important time of preparation for the sowing campaign begins. In order to carry it out successfully, last year Governor Alexey Teksler decided to allocate additional funds from the regional budget for the purchase of seeds. In total, we will pay farmers 350 million rubles,” notedMinister of Agriculture of the region Alexey Kobylin.
Farmers of the Chelyabinsk region fully provide themselves with seeds of grains, legumes and potatoes. But due to unfavorable weather conditions during last year's harvesting campaign, they were unable to harvest some of the seeds. A regional subsidy for the purchase of seed material will help solve this issue. The subsidy rate for grains and leguminous crops is 550 rubles per hectare of sown area, for durum wheat - 1000 rubles per hectare, for potatoes - 6000 rubles per hectare. 437 applications for the payment of subsidies were received from agricultural enterprises, farmers and individual entrepreneurs, and after verification of documents, regional money will begin to flow into accounts. The funds will need to be used by June 30, 2024 inclusive, and the purchased seeds will need to be used for sowing in 2024.
The Ministry conducts operational monitoring of seed offers on the domestic market, which will allow agricultural producers to purchase the desired varieties of crops in the required volume.
This year it is planned to collect at least 1 million 843.5 thousand tons of grain after processing, grow 201.2 thousand tons of oilseeds, 116.5 thousand tons of potatoes, 36.1 thousand tons of field vegetables. To facilitate the implementation of plans, 2 billion 626 million rubles will be allocated from the federal and regional budgets to support the agricultural sector. The share of the regional budget has increased compared to last year and amounts to 1 billion 745 million rubles.
