President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky approved new sanctions against Russia, 51 individuals and 220 legal entities were blacklisted.

Among the companies under Ukrainian restrictions were MTS and its subsidiary MTS Auto, 2GIS Local Search Limited, and Search Location Limited (the appendix to the presidential decree states that this is the former name of 2GIS Limited; the company’s website notes that it is registered In Cyprus).

2GIS is a Russian mapping service, the main owner of which is Sberbank (it acquired 72% of the company in 2020). According to Mediascope, as of the summer of 2019, the service was in the top 10 holdings operating in Runet. 2GIS was founded in the late 1990s by Alexander Sysoev, the developer of the service, the Novosibirsk LLC Dublgis, was registered as a separate legal entity in 2004. Prior to this, the project was part of the Technograd Plus company, which was engaged in the production of professional geographic information systems.

Also on the list were the structures of Russian Railways (RZD Asset Management, RZD Logistics, RZDstroy, RZD-protection and RZD-Health), the Solikamsk Experimental Metallurgical Plant, the research and production Kama Chemical Company, State Research Institute of Chemical Products.

Some Belarusian enterprises fell under the sanctions, for example, the Minsk Automobile Plant, the Minsk Mechanical Plant named after S. Vavilov, the Vitebsk plant of radio components "Monolit".

Restrictions against companies and people are introduced for a period of ten years. Among individuals , Ukraine blacklisted Kirill Skorokhodov, deputy head of the administration of Sudak.

Ukraine regularly imposes sanctions against Russia. This spring, the lists included the president of the Russian Triathlon Federation and the daughter of Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu Ksenia, gymnast Svetlana Khorkina, CSKA goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev, figure skater Ilya Averbukh, family members of businessman Vladimir Potanin and Senator Suleiman Kerimov, the CEC and Russian political parties, Yandex, Rambler, VK, etc.

The Russian Foreign Ministry considers the restrictions imposed by Kiev and Western countries due to hostilities in Ukraine illegal.
