The grain deal, which was previously announced by the Russian Foreign Ministry for a two-month extension, does not take into account Russia's requirements. This was stated by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Turkey Vasily Bondar, reports "Ukrinform".
“The agreement itself does not provide for the satisfaction of any requirements of RUSSIA. The agreement provides for mechanisms for the functioning of a grain corridor from Ukrainian ports to international markets,” the diplomat said.
In particular, according to him, the deal does not take into account the resuscitation of the Togliatti-Odessa ammonia pipeline and the lifting of sanctions against banks and organizations that trade in grain and fertilizers. These questions are "still under discussion," Bondar added.
Russia and Ukraine signed a grain deal separately with Turkey and the UN in July 2022. The agreement consists of two parts. The first guarantees the safe EXPORT of Ukrainian grain across the Black Sea, and the second guarantees the removal of restrictions on the access of Russian agricultural products and fertilizers to the world market .

Another extension was in doubt, as Russia has repeatedly stated that the second part of the deal is not being implemented. Nevertheless, on May 17, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced the extension of the grain deal for two months. The ministry urged to correct "distortions" in the execution of the deal as quickly as possible.
Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Sergei Vershinin warned earlier that the grain deal could cease to exist if consensus cannot be reached by May 18, taking into account Russian requirements.
In early April, the Russian Foreign Ministry listed the requirements , without which it would be impossible to extend the deal:
