Less than 28 thousand cases of COVID-19 were detected in Russia for the second day in a row

Over the past day, 27,434 cases of CORONAVIRUS infection have been registered in Russia, according to the data of the operational headquarters.

The total number of cases in the country since the beginning of the pandemic thus reached 10,186,823.

In Russia, the daily number of cases has been less than 30 thousand for a week already. The country passed its peak in early November, when this figure reached 40 thousand, and on November 6 it exceeded 41 thousand infected. From the 10th of November, the daily number of cases began to decline and on December 17 fell below 28 thousand.

The maximum number of people infected over the past day was recorded in Moscow - 2283 (a total of 2 million cases). Also, more than 1 thousand were identified in St. Petersburg (827.2 thousand) and the Moscow region (622.5 thousand).
