Kaliningrad Region Governor Anton Alikhanov has tested positive for coronavirus. This was announced by the head of the press service of the regional government Dmitry Lyskov, reports TASS.

“Governor Anton Alikhanov has a positive PCR test for coronavirus infection <...>. Anton Andreevich feels fine, the course of the disease is not severe, there are almost no symptoms, ”said Lyskov.

According to him, the governor is currently in self-isolation at his workplace.

In December 2020, Alikhanov became a volunteer in the trials of the EpiVacCorona vaccine developed by the Vector Center. In March 2021, he revealed that he fell ill six days after receiving the first component of the vaccine. In June, Alikhanov decided to undergo revaccination with Sputnik V.
