RBC Tatarstan interviewed the owners of travel companies about the situation on the market in the current geopolitical situation.
tourist isolation
President of the Association of Travel Agencies of the Republic of Tatarstan Ramil Miftakhov believes that the sanctions will seriously affect the tourism industry not only in the republic, but also in the country as a whole. To date, they have already affected flights, which have become impossible in those areas that are open to Russians: to the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Turkey, Egypt.
“The lessor has limited the number of planes, the insurance company has restricted movement and, in fact, ordered the return of the ships, so at the moment it will be difficult for the tourism industry. In terms of trips abroad, everything will be in a truncated version,” he said.
Rustem Tarzimanov, sales DIRECTOR of the Salavat City Center tourist services bureau, said in an interview with RBC Tatarstan that international outbound tourism is currently tending to zero. This is due to logistical problems and an increase in the exchange rate.
