
In the first half of 2021, Russians reduced the share of online purchases with cards to 40%. Such data are given in a study by Russian Standard Bank, TASS reports.
In the same period last year, this figure was at the level of 66%, in 2019 - 32%. At the same time, the share of purchases with payment by QR code through the Fast Payment System increased by 36%.
Analysts also found out that the average check in the first half of this year amounted to 1,229 rubles, in 2020 - 1,469 rubles, in 2019 - 2,082 rubles. “This trend contributes to the further growth of the [online shopping] segment, as it expands the range of online shopping activity,” the study notes.

Earlier, SberIndex reported that the share of non-cash payments in trade in 2020 reached an all-time high and amounted to 54.1%. The study noted that due to the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, the transition to non-cash forms of payment for goods and services in Russia accelerated.
