The CORONAVIRUS pandemic has had a significant negative impact on the activities of enterprises in the automotive industry. Experts predicted that 20% of companies would leave the service market. Scientists from the Department of Automobiles and Technological Machines of the Perm Polytechnic University analyzed the problems of the industry in 2020 and proposed a solution algorithm to overcome instability. Analyst data provided by the press service of PNRPU.

“The greatest economic damage from the pandemic occurred in the 2nd quarter of 2020. Losses in the basic sectors of the economy amounted to 11%, and in retail and services - 22%. Due to the decrease in the purchasing power of people and investment activity in the private sector, sales of new cars have significantly decreased. Citizens began to refuse the services of authorized services in favor of companies with more loyal prices. We analyzed the work of enterprises during the period of self-isolation on the example of the Perm Territory in order to draw up recommendations and use this experience in the future,” says Sergey Pestrikov, Ph.D.
