Experts called the death of leeches and the ryazhenka vaccine in schools the fakes of the year.

Most of the fakes were distributed through WhatsApp and YouTube. The most resonant were fakes about vaccination against covid-19, in particular "the vaccine destroys the god gene" and "the vaccine changes the DNA"

The autonomous non-profit organization Dialog and the Regional Public Center for Internet Technologies (ROCIT) compiled a list (RBC has) of the most resonant fakes that appeared on the Internet in 2021.

When compiling the list, experts took into account a number of criteria, including media coverage, the scale and dynamics of the spread of fakes, potential, virality, as well as the degree of threat to the life and HEALTH of citizens. The study was conducted by analyzing the array of fakes of 2021 collected by Dialog using the Incident Management system and the Medialogy database.

The researchers found that 73% of the most resonant fakes this year were related to the CORONAVIRUS vaccination. The full list of the most resonant fakes looks like this (fakes on the topic of vaccination against COVID-19 are in italics):
