More flexible and efficient: vectors of development of the IT industry were announced in the Republic of Tatarstan

The coming year has been declared the Year of Digitalization in Tatarstan. The market expert believes that for the effective development of IT technologies in the republic, it is necessary to take into account and actively implement global trends and approaches into work.

Sergey Solovyov, Deputy General Director of the ICL group of companies, believes that IT companies of the republic need to follow global trends that have proven their effectiveness in 2021. In an interview with RBC Tatarstan, he said that in matters of digitalization, the republic will be able to be at the forefront, using trending technologies and stimulating digitalization in the real sector of the economy.

— What trends in the IT sphere of recent years will continue in 2022? In which direction should Tatarstan companies look and what should they do now in order to actively develop next year?

A year ago, a joke arose that COVID is the best digital director who pushed us all to digitalization, and it was difficult to dismiss the movement in this direction. Therefore, companies should pay attention to technologies that have already proven their effectiveness, and in the future will also develop and largely determine the development of IT. These technologies will continue to impact business and increase its efficiency, have greater penetration into business processes. And now, highlighting some new trends in technology, I focus both on our experience and on the results of consulting companies involved in market analysis. For example, the results of Gartner research.

Speaking about global trends, I would focus on cloud platforms. By about 2025, the penetration of various types of cloud technologies in companies will reach, if not 100%, then definitely more than 90%. At the same time, today their penetration in the world is less than 40%. I believe that they will increase their power.

But speaking about global trends, we must understand that they will naturally also be implemented in the companies of Tatarstan. The Republic will not follow its own path of development. There are quite a lot of international companies in Tatarstan, so all these trends will apply to them as well. I believe this is the right approach and has proven to be effective.
