On the table - what they have grown

This is the only farm in our country named in honor of the reunification of Western Belarus with the BSSR - a landmark agricultural enterprise in the Minsk region. The central office is located in the agro-town with the poetic name High Lipa. On the eve of the sowing season, we visited the farmers and saw that people there work hard every day. To the glory of the economy, the native Vysoka Lypa and the Nesvizh region - a reference region of the republic in many respects.

Locomotive trend - milk

We met with Artem Shestaperov, Director of OJSC "September 17" after holding a tender for the purchase of equipment. This is the moment when Artem Yuryevich had half an hour to talk with reporters.

“The results of 2022 are satisfactory: we have fulfilled the tasks set by the state, they even worked with a margin in animal husbandry,” the director said at the beginning of the conversation about the affairs of the economy and confirmed the thesis with numbers.

- The main revenue, under 80%, is traditionally given to the enterprise by milk, which was milked last year by more than 14.8 thousand tons (+1959 tons by 2021). The average milk yield per cow is 9.6 thousand tons (+ 340 kg by 2021). Cultivation of cattle - more than 1052 tons (+ 88.9 tons by 2021). 787 tons of beef sold (+39 tons by 2021). Since the beginning of the year, we continue to increase in milk and meat.

The livestock sector of OJSC "September 17" is represented by two dairy complexes, one dairy farm and a complex for growing heifers. Fattening of bulls is carried out in parallel - in their own livestock divisions. Herd of cattle - 5094 heads (+ 305 heads by 2021). Of these, 1,681 heads are dairy cows (+275 heads by 2021). Here, there are 112.3 heads of livestock per 100 hectares of farmland, including 37.1 cows per hectare.

They know their business

Each category of animals has its own menu, the preparation of the list of ingredients of which is taken care of first by machine operators and plant breeders, and then by livestock breeders.

We visited the MTC "Vysokaya Lipa", where the "run-in" of the feeder recently purchased by the farm was just underway. Judging by the way the cows occupied the fodder table in a friendly manner, the food turned out to be just right!

- Previously, he worked at the "Hozyain" feeder. Then I had to go in tandem with a loader, which helped in loading the ingredients. Now assistants are not needed: the feeder itself loads the feed, mixes it, and then spreads it on the feed table, - machine operator Alexander Patapishin shared with journalists the features of new technologies after he filled the fragrant feed mixture (silage, haylage, beet pulp, corn flakes) the whole table is a swath of fodder, into which the cows immediately buried their faces.

The cows' appetite pleases livestock breeders: the techno-cook under the guidance of Alexander Patapishin did his best!

Before we had time to talk with Alexander, the pusher-turner "Breadwinner" under the control of Alexander Fenko drove to the farm. The nimble unit, moving along the aisle between the tables, slipped food to the cows, which they managed to scatter.

Feeding animals is a matter of technology. And mechanics.

They take care of the economy and the comfort of livestock. Two dairy farms have gone through modernization and transfer to loose housing of cows. The reconstruction of the maternity building for cows and newborn calves continues, on the health of which the productivity of the future herd depends. Farmers remember that a dairy herd begins with calves, which (as well as mothers) are groomed and cherished here.

What is on the tongue of a cow

In JSC "September 17" they know that milk is on the tongue of a cow, and the herds are supplied with complete feed.

- And although the crops burn out on the hills (the lands are mostly hilly-stony), but the arable land is fertile, - director Artem Shestaperov noted. - We feed the livestock with what we have grown on farmland.

For the current wintering in 2022, 18,823 tons of feed units were prepared, including 12,075 tons of grasses. For one conditional head - 49.9 centners of feed units.

And although the August-September drought had a strong impact on the yield of fields in 2022, there are no problems with feed: the land responded to the care of the farmers with a harvest. The bunker weight of cereals with corn amounted to 11094.5 tons, rapeseed oil seeds - 1027.5 tons. At the same time, the yield of cereals and legumes in 2022 is 73.8 centners per hectare, rapeseed oil seeds - 34.3 centners per hectare.

The farmers were also pleased with the Gorodeya Sugar Plant, where they delivered 13,479.2 tons of sugar beet - 1,085.9 tons more than in 2021. Sugar producers shared beet pulp with livestock breeders for livestock feed.

JSC "September 17" is an average agricultural enterprise in terms of the number of employees.

- Each person is in his place. There is no staff turnover: people, as a rule, do not leave, except for retirement, - says director Artem Shestaperov. - Only when we buy new equipment to improve the forage base, then we expand the staff. Now the farm has enough equipment, there is the necessary number of specialists to carry out the volume of spring field work, as well as daily receive the planned milk yield and weight gain in animal husbandry.

The economy also takes care of housing for those who do not have their own roof over their heads. Recently, a four-apartment house was built in Vysoka Lipa for the employees of JSC "17 September".
