This was stated by State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev during a joint meeting of the boards of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Belarus and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, BELTA correspondent reports.

“The meeting of the boards of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Belarus and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation is historical in its own way. it is expected to examine our positions and summarize the results of the work, which confirm that the agro-industrial complex of Belarus and Russia is a source of pride and a factor in ensuring food security. I would like to note that the tasks that are being set today problems facing the agrarian complex and the agricultural sector economy are being successfully resolved,” emphasized the Secretary of State of the Union State.

He noted that during the period of validity of the union agreement on agriculture, programs for MILK, vegetable products, animal feed and other areas were implemented. In the future, serious attention and support of the Union State will also be directed to the agricultural sector, since this topic is of particular importance for the economy.

“It is important to outline what we need to do in the format of the Union State. We have already prepared proposals that will form the basis for the main directions for implementing the provisions of the Union Treaty for 2024-2026. We will also summarize the work on 28 Union programs. I note that the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation and The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Belarus has shown that they can achieve meaningful results. The two ministries are working effectively and in the right way," concluded the Secretary of State of the Union State.
