March 10, Vitebsk. Five industries have been identified for the upcoming five-year period in the industrial complex of the Vitebsk region, in which high-tech enterprises will be created that produce products of world standards. This was announced at a meeting on the development of the industrial complex of the region by Oleg Matskevich, First Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, BelTA informs.
The industry of the Vitebsk region in the coming five years will develop in five key areas. "Priority will be given to the creation and development of new high-tech industries and areas of industry. This is all that was determined at the VI All-Belarusian People's Assembly. The national electric transport and electric industry, bioindustry, pharmaceuticals, robotics and the production of composite materials will be developed in the Vitebsk region," he said. Oleg Matskevich.
There are already first steps in the implementation of these areas, and in 2021-2025 innovative and investment projects in these industries will be actively implemented. For example, the installation of electric charging stations and serial production at JSC Vityaz will continue. Enterprises involved in the bioindustry have already been supported from the innovation fund. The regional executive committee acted as a customer for such future projects as the construction of a digitalized plant for the production of innovative veterinary drugs of the Green Line series - an alternative to antibiotics. Also, development is underway to cultivate a strain of the rabies virus and produce a vaccine-containing bait for wild animals. In pharmaceuticals, the work of the first pharmaceutical cluster based on 10 organizations, including the Vitebsk State Medical University, will be aimed at creating pharmaceutical products that can enter the world market.
Speaking about robotic technology in production, Oleg Matskevich cited JLLC "Belwest" as an example, which is gradually introducing robotic software and hardware systems developed in the company's own scientific laboratory. Significant steps were taken in the production of composite materials back in 2018: the Polotsk Composite Cluster was created, which includes 11 enterprises of the country.
Along with high-tech industries, traditional ones will also be developed in the coming five-year period. "Here, one of the important areas will be the petrochemical industry. The modernization of OAO Naftan will be completed, as a result, the depth of oil refining will increase to 90%, the yield of light oil products will be about 65%. The production of new types of products will be mastered: elemental granulated and liquid sulfur (68 thousand . t per year) and petroleum coke (462 thousand tons per year). After the commissioning of the facilities of the delayed coking complex, Naftan will be able to fully meet the country's needs for diesel fuel and motor gasoline," said Oleg Matskevich.
He added that in the woodworking industry, stakes will be placed on the strategy of deep processing of raw materials. The same strategy will be applied in the development of the food industry. "Thanks to the creation of 7 agro-industrial associations, the Vitebsk region will be able to defend its interests and compete in this industry both on the domestic and foreign markets. Important tasks facing the leaders of the associations are the full loading of MEAT and MILK processing industries and the development of raw materials zones," - stressed the first deputy chairman of the regional executive committee.
In mechanical engineering, organizations will be created without departmental subordination. "We plan to get an additional effect from cooperation on cooperative ties, when industrial giants bring small enterprises engaged in the production of components and import-substituting parts into their production," Oleg Matskevich noted.
At the same time, cooperation is not limited to the Vitebsk region. Small and medium-sized enterprises are independently looking for markets abroad, EXPORT their products abroad and have a stable flow of foreign exchange. Oleg Matskevich called this form of cooperation one of the most promising and stressed that it will be developed both at large enterprises and in small and medium-sized businesses.
