MINSK . Closer cooperation with Omani business circles, primarily small and medium-sized businesses, can become a powerful driver of growth in exchange trade turnover between Belarus and Oman. This opinion was expressed by the Honorary Consul of Belarus in the Sultanate of Oman Abdullah Masoud Humaid al-Harthi during a visit to the central office of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange in Minsk, BELTA learned from the press service of BUCE.
According to the Omani businessman, small private companies play an important role in the economy of the Sultanate, so involving them in the work on the BUCE electronic platform will provide a solid foundation for building long-term trade relations and fruitful cooperation in the exchange sphere.
"I believe that small and medium
businesses are the key to the Omani market. Accordingly, in the context of developing exchange trade between our countries,
it is precisely this category of companies that should be the focus of our efforts," Abdullah Masoud Humaid al-Harthi shared his opinion. "This could be either
imports of goods from Belarus, such as dry
MILK, lumber or feed additives, or supplies of Omani products in demand among Belarusian enterprises: non-ferrous metals, ferroalloys, organic fertilizers, marble. The Honorary Consulate is ready to assist in informing Omani entrepreneurs about the opportunities to participate in exchange trading and to act as a co-organizer of any promotional events on exchange topics."
In addition to increasing mutual supplies of goods through BUCE, another promising area of cooperation is considered to be the use of Oman as a trade and logistics hub for re-exporting products manufactured in Belarus to the countries of the Middle East and Africa. Thus, Belarusian participants in exchange trading will gain access to a wider audience of potential buyers and will not be limited by the volume of demand from Omani consumers.
"Oman should be perceived not only as a target market, but also as a gateway through which Belarusian goods will enter the markets of neighboring countries - Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Yemen, as well as the Asian and African regions. I am confident that, relying on the digital infrastructure of your exchange, we will be able to implement such a scheme of interaction," concluded the Honorary Consul of Belarus in Oman.
