Belarus and Kazakhstan will discuss the possibility of creating an industrial cooperation fund

Erlan Baizhanov March 4, MINSK . Belarus and Kazakhstan will discuss the possibility of creating a joint bilateral industrial cooperation fund. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Belarus Erlan Baizhanov told reporters about this following a meeting with President of Belarus ALEXANDER LUKASHENKO, BELTA correspondent reports.  
During the meeting, the ambassador shared his impressions of his trips to the regions of Belarus, emphasizing that he was impressed by the level of technological development and industrial potential of the country.


In a conversation with reporters, the diplomat spoke in more detail on this topic. He said that Kazakhstan is interested in establishing cooperation with such Belarusian enterprises as Novus Industry from Mogilev (a complex of woodworking and furniture factories), Polimerkonstruktsiya from Vitebsk (a company that offers comprehensive solutions for drainage and water supply).

“I see that in almost every region of Belarus there are several companies that we would like to see operating in Kazakhstan,” noted Erlan Baizhanov. He emphasized that this is not just about trade supplies, but about the localization of production. “This is a more long-term and fundamental cooperation. Therefore, we are orienting our Belarusian partners towards this approach,” the diplomat said. 
“We also understand that this kind of investment projects requires more confident support from states, governments, and financial institutions,” he continued. “It would be possible (and I proposed such an idea) to create a joint bilateral industrial cooperation fund. This is one of the ideas which was discussed today."

55 enterprises with Kazakh capital are registered in Belarus, including 17 joint ventures and 38 foreign ones, and more than 170 subjects of the commodity distribution network of domestic enterprises operate in Kazakhstan. Cooperation projects are being implemented for the joint production of tractor, agricultural, automobile and trailer, fire and rescue equipment, as well as elevator equipment.

The trade turnover of the two countries at the end of 2023 amounted to $1.1 billion, including exports from Belarus - $867 million. Our country supplies mainly tractors, machines and mechanisms for harvesting and threshing agricultural crops, cheeses andcottage cheese , MILK and cream, sausages and MEAT products, furniture, semi-finished products made of unalloyed steel.
