55 cattle burial grounds will be liquidated in the Sverdlovsk region

“In 2024 , it is planned to liquidate 31 cattle burial grounds, and in 2025, another 24 cattle burial grounds,” the department said in a statement.

In addition, in 2023, 2 cattle burial grounds were liquidated in the Beloyarsky district.

Veterinary specialists explained that the procedure for liquidating a cattle burial ground depends on the condition of the object and includes a number of measures:

– laboratory analysis of soil samples and gummed residue for anthrax;

– disinfection and dismantling of the structures of the cattle burial ground;

– backfilling holes and trenches with soil;

– subsequent leveling and rolling of the area;

– preventive disinfection of the surface layer of soil.

“This work is aimed at ensuring the epizootic and veterinary-sanitary well-being of the territory of our region, as well as preventing the emergence of unauthorized burials of biowaste and environmental pollution by pathogens of infectious animal diseases,” commented veterinary specialists.

Let us remind you that the State Duma is considering  a bill on the legal regulation of the operation and liquidation of cattle burial grounds. In RUSSIA they plan to develop a unified procedure for the operation of cattle burial grounds, and will also create a unified register of them. Moreover, it will be prohibited to build new cattle burial grounds in the country.
