In Kazakhstan, there is an increase in prices for poultry Meat , and experts predict its further increase in the near future. In January and February 2024 , poultry meat production in the country increased by 8% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 56.5 thousand tons. In total, about 329 thousand tons of poultry meat were produced last year.

The ElDala.kz portal reports that despite the decline in wholesale prices for poultry meat this year, retail prices continue to rise. Analysts at the AITAS holding point to several factors that may influence further price increases. Firstly, the demand for chicken meat is expected to increase due to the onset of the season. Secondly, changes in foreign trade and a possible Russian ban on the transit of poultry meat from the United States could increase import costs and put additional pressure on prices in Kazakhstan. Food prices are also expected to rise in Russia, which may also affect the cost of poultry meat in Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan's projected inflation rate for 2024-2025 also portends an increase in poultry prices as overall increases in the cost of living and production costs impact food prices.

According to AITAS, in January and February 2024, the largest amount of poultry meat was produced in the Akmola region, where the Makinsk poultry farm produced 14.3 thousand tons of chicken. The top three also included the Almaty region with 18.5 thousand tons and the East Kazakhstan region with 10.3 thousand tons of poultry meat produced by the Ust-Kamenogorsk poultry farm.

IT is important to note that the highest prices for chicken are observed in the Mangistau region, Astana and Almaty. Taking into account all these factors, the cost of chicken meat on the Kazakh market is expected to increase in the near future.
