Putin named the reason for US sanctions against Chinese electric cars

The US administration has imposed sanctions on Chinese electric vehicles due to the fact that the production of these vehicles in CHINA is developing and these cars are becoming better. Russian President Putin stated this at a meeting with students of Harbin Polytechnic University.

He called the introduction of such restrictions unfair competition. “The Americans recently took action and imposed sanctions on electric vehicles and electric vehicles on China. Why? For what? Because Chinese cars have become better, that’s why. There is no other reason,” the Russian president is convinced.

China expects to sell 11.5 million electric vehicles this year and control 45% of the market by 2027, while the United States forecasts sales of 2.5 million electric cars in 2028.

In the last quarter of last year, the Chinese concern BYD Co. Ltd has become the leader in sales of electric vehicles, overtaking the American Tesla. Thus, a company from China sold 526.4 thousand electric vehicles from October to November, and Tesla sold 484.5 thousand. The American company has been the leader in the electric vehicle segment since 2018.
