Paraguayan beef gains access to Canadian market

Paraguayan President Santiago Peña celebrated the good news with posts on social media. “I congratulate all participating institutions and sectors on this important achievement,” he wrote.

Paraguay's National Service for Quality and Animal HEALTH (Senacsa) has published a list of plants approved by the Canadian government and highlighted the strict sanitary standards that must be met.

Senacsa President José Carlos Martín explained that it took almost three and a half years of intensive work and negotiations for Paraguayan producers to meet Canada's demands . “This is a volume similar to the US market,” he also noted.

Martin also noted that 97% of beef exports are boneless . “Previously it was 100%, but we allowed the supply of MEAT with bones to Israel. This has a cushioning effect, because the higher the EXPORT , the higher the production,” he clarified.
