May 15, Baku. The national pavilion of Belarus opened at the Azerbaijani international exhibitions "Agriculture" (Caspian Agro) and "Food Industry" (Interfood Azerbaijan), which are taking place on May 15-17 in Baku, BELTA correspondent reports.
Caspian Agro and Interfood Azerbaijan are the largest agricultural exhibitions in the Caucasus. This time they united about 500 companies from 38 countries.
Belarus has been presenting its products here for the fifth year in a row. In total, 15 states presented their national pavilions.
As Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko noted during the opening of the forum, over 40 Belarusian companies came to Baku. They represent
meat, dairy, confectionery, fish, alcoholic products and other types of food, as well as fertilizers, plant processing chemicals, and veterinary drugs. “Mutual trade between Belarus and Azerbaijan in food products is developing intensively and makes a significant contribution to ensuring the food security of the two countries,” emphasized Igor Petrishenko. “Today, Belarusian products can be bought in any chain supermarket in Azerbaijan, as well as in six specialized stores operating in Baku under the brand "Belarusian". We hope that stores of Belarusian products will soon appear in other cities of Azerbaijan."
A wide range of Belarusian agricultural machinery and tire products is presented at the open site of Caspian Agro. Due to its availability, price and quality,
it is popular both in large agricultural holdings in Azerbaijan and among farmers. “Today, 70% of tractors operating in Azerbaijan bear the name Belarus,” noted the Deputy Prime Minister.
According to the Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mikhail Myatlikov, this year the Belarusian pavilion is the largest among other national stands. “It occupies almost 300 square meters. Our stands display
food products , agricultural machinery, and, of course, petrochemicals, including fertilizers that are used in agriculture,” he said.
Participation in Caspian Agro and Interfood Azerbaijan allows Belarusian enterprises to demonstrate their products not only to residents of Azerbaijan, but also to representatives of many other countries. Over the years of participation, more than two hundred Belarusian companies presented their products at exhibitions. Here they found their partners and successfully cooperate with them.
"Last year there were 15 thousand visitors who represented 38 countries of the world, i.e. this is not only an opportunity to present ourselves in Azerbaijan - it is an opportunity to present ourselves to other countries of the world that, for example, did not make it to our Belagro," - noted the Chairman of the BelCCI.
