Listeria was found in the meatballs of a producer from the Kavalerovsky district of the Primorsky MVL

The batch under study was recognized as not complying with the requirements of the technical regulations "On Food Safety", "On the Safety of MEAT and Meat Products", as well as the requirements of the technical regulation on the safety of food additives, flavors and technical aids.

Listeria is the causative agent of a disease called listeriosis. Listeria are considered especially dangerous, as they are able to survive at low temperatures. After defrosting semi-finished products, bacteria begin to multiply actively.

On this fact, in relation to the manufacturer of products, the Primorsky Interregional Department of ROSSELKHOZNADZOR agreed with the prosecutor's office and carried out an unscheduled verification. The product has been withdrawn from circulation. With respect to SP Zhigalina M.A. an administrative offense report was drawn up.

On May 2, 2023, the Rosselkhoznadzor Department decided to suspend the declaration of conformity for the specified products. The information was also sent to the Federal Service for Accreditation.

In addition, the manufacturer was issued an order on the need to develop a program to prevent the release of low-quality products.
