The Primorsky branch of Rosselkhoznadzor conducted more than seven thousand tests for Staphylococcus aureus.

The research covered samples of both domestic and imported products, including pollock and flounder fillets, minced fish, and various types of sausages,Yogurt and many other products. The total number of samples analyzed was 311,300 tons.

Positive results were detected in two batches of pollock milt from a producer in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, two batches of different types of onigiri, and two batches of cooked sausages from a Primorsky producer. Staphylococcus aureus is one of the most dangerous microorganisms, capable of causing serious food poisoning and illness. The detection of this pathogen indicates possible violations in production processes. All detected violations were recorded in the Vesta automated veterinary control system and sent to the Primorsky Interregional Office of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance .
