National standards for organic agriculture may be introduced in 2025

The agricultural department plans to create a toolkit for recording "green products" and develop a comprehensive plan for scientific research in this area for 2024.

Next year, it is also planned to ensure recognition of Russian certificates of conformity by countries importing organic products, as well as help Russian organic producers enter foreign markets. Already at the end of 2024, entrepreneurial accelerators will be organized and agro-technological hubs will be created on the basis of leading agricultural educational organizations. Russian "green" products also need to be brought to the EAEU market ; the Ministry of Agriculture expects to conclude an agreement on their recognition in the second quarter of 2025.

The document also provides for the creation of a network of representative offices of the National Competence Center for the Development of Organic and "Green" Products of Roskachestvo in federal districts by the end of next year.

Increase the volume by 6 times

Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the Strategy for the Development of Organic Production until 2030, according to which "green" products will be included in the menu of schools, kindergartens and hospitals. 

The authors of the strategy set a goal to increase the volume of consumption of organic products in the country from 24.4 billion rubles in 2021 to 149.8 billion by 2030. 

The authors of the strategy note the importance of qualified personnel for the development of the industry. Starting in 2027, they plan to annually train 4 thousand specialists, managers and entrepreneurs in the field of organic agriculture. In RUSSIA, there are already 111 producers of organic goods that have received Russian certificates of conformity, and such products are produced in 47 regions. In 2021, up to 80 percent of organic consumption occurred in large cities - Moscow and St. Petersburg .

By 2030, consumption of products in Moscow alone could exceed 100 billion rubles, of which about 15 percent will be the most popular organic products among Russians - MILK and dairy products. Organic fruits , vegetables, greens, cheeses and groceries, baby food andALCOHOL .
