Rospotrebnadzor gave recommendations on taking antibiotics

Rospotrebnadzor has published recommendations on taking antibiotics to reduce the spread of bacterial resistance.

According to Rospotrebnadzor, due to the decrease in the effectiveness of antibiotics, it becomes more difficult to treat infectious diseases such as pneumonia, tuberculosis, gonorrhea, salmonellosis, and others. The service explains that the misuse of antibiotics leads to the fact that bacteria become resistant to them.

In order to reduce the spread of antibiotic resistance (antibiotic resistance), Rospotrebnadzor experts advise taking them only as prescribed by a DOCTOR and following the recommendations given by him, not giving his antibiotics to other people, and not requiring a doctor to prescribe antibiotics if he does not see the need for it. . It is noted that not all infections can be cured with antibiotics, for example, against diseases such as colds or flu, they are not effective.

Also, in order to reduce the risk of infection in the body, Rospotrebnadzor experts recommend washing hands thoroughly, maintaining hygiene, avoiding physical contact with patients, getting vaccinated in a timely manner, and practicing safe sex.

Earlier, the World HEALTH Organization opposed the use of antibiotics for prevention. According to Danilo Lo Pho Wong, HEAD of the antimicrobial resistance program in the WHO European Region, taking low doses of antibiotics for a long time destroys “normal bacteria”. According to him, children who receive antibiotics unnecessarily may later become obese due to the fact that the drug has changed their intestinal flora.
