The North Sea Interregional Directorate of ROSSELKHOZNADZOR reported that the diagnosis was confirmed by laboratory tests conducted in the subordinate service of the Federal Center for Animal HEALTH (FGBU "ARRIAH").

“The situation with the detection of bird flu in the region is quite serious, but not critical. The entire population of the poultry farm, which is 493 thousand heads of poultry, is subject to seizure and destruction, ”commented the deputy governor of the region Mikhail Glazkov, his words are quoted in the message.

Now quarantine has been introduced in the area of ​​the detected outbreak of AIV , and a threatened zone has been identified. “The removal of the bird will also be carried out in the threatened zone. There will be losses, of course. But this does not threaten the food security of the region. This situation will not affect the cost of eggs on store shelves,” said Mikhail Glazkov.

Checkpoints have been set up at the border of the epizootic focus and the threatened zone in the Cherepovets region, and incoming and outgoing vehicles are being searched and disinfected. At the same time, there were no restrictions on movement in this territory.

The territorial department of the Rosselkhoznadzor warned that enterprises that have the products of the Malechkinsky Poultry Farm should withdraw them from circulation in order to prevent the spread of avian influenza.  

Rospotrebnadzor, together with the Department of Health of the region, examines the employees of the poultry farm, contact persons will be under medical supervision.

Agricultural fairs, exhibitions, auctions and other events related to the movement and accumulation of birds in the threatened zone are temporarily prohibited.

In total, in RUSSIA, according to the Rosselkhoznadzor, from the beginning of the year to July 24, 62 outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza were recorded: among wild birds - 53 cases, 1 - in ornamental birds, 2 outbreaks in poultry farms and 6 cases among domestic birds.

Highly pathogenic avian influenza is a highly contagious viral disease characterized by damage to the circulatory and central nervous systems, respiratory organs, digestion, excretion and egg production.

Clinical signs in birds: decreased productivity, depression, refusal of food and water, ruffled plumage, cyanosis of the skin, swelling of the intermaxillary space, subcutaneous hemorrhages on the limbs, impaired coordination of movements, sinusitis, rhinitis, conjunctivitis, diarrhea.
