Construction of the Heparinus plant, which began in the second quarter of 2021, has come to an end and the company is preparing to produce the first batch of processed product. As the Miratorg company reported, 1.6 billion rubles were invested in the project, and it became the first enterprise of its kind in RUSSIA.

Porcine mucosa, or the mucous membrane of the small intestine of pigs, was previously exported to Europe for further processing. The construction of a new plant will allow us to establish our own processing of more than 409 thousand tons of raw materials per year. Processing will be carried out in two directions: the plant will produce up to 70 tons of the initial form of pharmaceutical heparin per year and up to 8 thousand tons of feed protein per year. Raw materials will be accepted for processing not only from Miratorg factories, but also from other pig-breeding enterprises, the report notes.

The company noted that the processed products from the plant will be used in pharmaceuticals as an anticoagulant, which is in demand in several areas at once - in surgery, the treatment of pneumonia, and the production of ointments. As for the production of protein, this is a by-product of processing, but it will be in demand when creating feed for farm and domestic animals, since these proteins are easily digestible.
