The Ministry of Agriculture considers accreditation of veterinary laboratories one of the priorities for the development of veterinary medicine in the Russian Federation

“One of our priorities has become the accreditation of laboratories to provide the industry with high-quality research. This is one of the basic needs of livestock farmers,” noted Maria Novikova at the panel discussion “Vector of Veterinary Development.”
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, as of December 31, 2023, 842 veterinary laboratories operate in RUSSIA. Not all organizations have been accredited yet.
As part of the Federal project “Export of Agro-Industrial Products”, starting from 2022, a state support measure is provided aimed at creating conditions for veterinary laboratories in Russian regions to obtain accreditation under the national accreditation system. Thanks to this support, the percentage of laboratories that have passed initial accreditation is increasing. Thus, in 2023, 6 laboratories passed the initial accreditation procedure. Another 6 laboratories are preparing documents for accreditation, the Ministry of Agriculture reported.
