An iodine checker is a small tablet or cylinder that emits thick smoke when burned. The main active ingredient is iodine, which during combustion is converted into iodaldehyde, a highly active antimicrobial compound. The smoke, saturated with this compound, fills the entire chicken coop, penetrating hard-to-reach areas, exceeding the effectiveness of conventional disinfectants.

The use of iodine checkers is especially important in the following cases:

  1. Preventive disinfection, which is recommended to be carried out several times a year, especially during transitional seasons.
  2. Treatment of respiratory diseases such as mycoplasmosis or infectious bronchitis.
  3. Control of external parasites, including ticks and feather eaters.
  4. Preparing the chicken coop for new livestock.

To ensure maximum effectiveness, clear the chicken coop of debris and seal all cracks beforehand. After activating the bomb, leave it in the room for 3-4 hours and then thoroughly ventilate. This method is safe for chickens and significantly reduces pathogen levels.

It is important to remember that working with iodine checkers requires caution, especially with weak or young birds - in such situations, it is advisable to consult a veterinarian.
