Despite the fact that the Voronezh holding, founded in 2009 almost from scratch, is one of the youngest in the industry, over 13 years the team has done a lot to develop the business, said Vladimir Maslov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Agroeco group of companies, at the conference "Progressive Genetics is the key to economic success”, organized last week.

To date, the agro-industrial holding manages land assets with an area of 81,000 hectares, three feed mills with a total capacity of 1.1 million products per year, two selection and genetic centers (SGC), and 43 commodity sites. Last year, a modern MEAT processing complex began to operate within the boundaries of the Pavlovsk TASED.

Over the past four years, pork output has doubled. Now Agroeco is confidently moving towards the target for 2025 - 388 thousand tons, increasing production efficiency, where the cost price has become the most important aspect. The holding focuses on the latest technologies both in design solutions and in genetics. Based on a number of studies on taste to organoleptic indicators, the choice was made on the Duroc breed - pigs with the most delicious meat, according to tasters. In particular, the neck is sold as a premium piece.

In a difficult political situation, the Agroeco group has maintained its cooperation with Danish Genetics and is independently engaged in breeding to strengthen the genetic base. Both SGCs use the most advanced technologies for working with breeding stock.

Before offering animals with high genetics to customers, the holding set up their reproduction for its own needs. At the moment, the average daily weight gain of commercial fattening pigs is 934 grams with a feed conversion of 2.64. Sows give birth to more than 18 babies per farrow. The number of weaned piglets has reached 36 per year, and the next target is 40.

Given the high epizootic risk in the region, great attention is paid to biological safety at Agroeco's pig breeding facilities, and now all of them have the status of infection-free.
