“We decided to improve the breed properties of the livestock at our own pig farm, which allowed us to increase productivity to 7%. This means that meat processing will receive 500 tons more raw materials per year, without increasing the number of animals or additional costs for feed and maintenance. In the scale of our shipments to various regions of the country, this plays a significant role and allows us to offer products at affordable prices,” notes Sergei Fedorov, General Director of MPK Romkor.

At any one time, the Romkor pig farm, located in the Troitsky district of the Chelyabinsk region, houses more than 40 thousand animals. Updating the gene pool took about two years - from the moment of choosing a supplier to the completion of a phased replacement of the livestock with a more advanced one. According to the calculations of analysts from MPC Romkor, investments in new livestock should pay off already in 2024.

“Few people know what modernpig farm . This is a high-security facility with high technology and almost complete automation. Using a variety of sensors and sophisticated software, hundreds of parameters are monitored for thousands of animals - everything to ensure that the final product is of the highest quality and at the same time accessible to the consumer. When choosing genetics, pork producers focus on housing conditions and their requirements for pork - fatter, leaner, etc. Our choice fell on a combination of breeds such as “Large White”, “Landrace” and replacement parent boar 337 from the PIC company,” comments Director of the Romkor pig farm Oleg Sharonov.

MPC "Romkor" is the largest meat processing corporation in the Southern Urals, producing up to 120 tons of sausage , frankfurters, other processed meat products and semi-finished products per day, and the assortment includes more than 200 types of sausages and meat products.
