Brazilian poultry genetics exports will grow by 10.1% in 2024. February shipments have already shown a 13.8% increase compared to last year. According to the Brazilian Livestock Producers Association (ABPA), Brazil exported 2,646 tons of poultry genetics, including chicks and fertile eggs , in February of this year. This exceeds the export volume for the same period last year by 13.8%.

Although February export revenue amounted to US $19.4 million , which is 7.4% lower than last year, the cumulative increase for the year amounts to 10.1%. In the first two months of this year, 5,116 tons of genetics were exported, compared to 4,646 tons in the same period last year. Revenue for the first two months amounted to $38.7 million, a decrease of 8.2% compared to the previous year's $42.2 million.

Mexico became the main buyer of Brazilian poultry genetics, importing 1,656 thousand tons in the first two months of this year. However, the volume of shipments to Mexico decreased by 48.8% compared to last year. However, sales to South Africa amounted to 1,490 thousand tons (there were no shipments in 2023), and significant growth was also noted in Senegal (1,103 thousand tons, +75%), Paraguay (459 tons, +14%), and Venezuela (101 tons, +0.2%). ABPA President Ricardo Santin notes that "African countries are increasingly turning to Brazilian poultry genetics to replace their losses or even to create reliable alternative genetic supplies."

Thus, Brazilian poultry genetics exports continue to grow, attracting the attention of various countries, especially in Africa, looking for reliable suppliers to strengthen their poultry industry.
