7 people injured in traffic accident in Minsk region over the weekend

July 4, Minsk. Over the weekend, 5 road accidents were registered in the Minsk region, as a result of which 1 person died, 7 received injuries of varying severity, one of which was a minor passenger. One accident was caused by a drunk driver. BelTA was informed about this by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee.

So, on July 2, at about 18.40, on the 45th km of the M3 Minsk-Vitebsk highway, Logoisk district, a driver born in 1992, moving in an Alfa Romeo car in the direction of Vitebsk, collided with a passenger car driven by a driver born in 1998, which stopped, passing oncoming vehicles to turn left. As a result of an accident, a minor passenger born in 2004 with bodily injuries was hospitalized. It is known that the passenger was wearing a seat belt.

On July 3 at about 12.10 on the 34th km of the highway Kopatsevichi - Gavrilchitsy - Lugi of the Soligorsk region, a driver born in 1969, a resident of Soligorsk, driving a Volkswagen Sharan car while intoxicated (2.3 ppm), moving from the direction of the village of Gavrilchitsy to in the direction of the village of Luga, lost control, drove into the oncoming lane, where he collided with an Audi car driven by a driver born in 1963. As a result of an accident, the driver of the Audi car and the passenger, a woman born in 1976, were hospitalized with injuries.

In total, over Friday and weekends, road guards detected over 1.7 thousand violations by road users. 45 drunk drivers were detained. 135 facts of driving vehicles by persons who do not have the right to drive were suppressed. 155 pedestrians were brought to administrative responsibility, 52 drunk pedestrians were removed from the roadway.

In order to avoid traffic accidents, the State traffic inspectorate of the Minsk region strongly recommends that drivers take into account the established hot weather and, when driving, exercise maximum attention and caution while driving, it is advisable to refuse to travel long distances, and for drivers of advanced age and with diseases of the cardiovascular system, the best solution would be postpone trips during the day during the period of solar activity. If the trip cannot be postponed, then at least plan it in the morning or evening hours, when it is not so hot, while observing the speed limit and distance, be extremely careful at the roundabouts of roads and at the entrance to pedestrian crossings.
