Two teenagers drowned in the Minsk region

July 2, Minsk. Two minors drowned in the Minsk region, BelTA learned from the Investigative Committee.

Around 22.00 on July 1, a message was received about children who drowned in a reservoir near the village of Komsichi, Kopyl district. It was preliminarily established that in the evening a 15-year-old teenager and his 16-year-old sister, while at the dacha, went for a bike ride. The guy decided to swim in the reservoir, which was not intended and equipped for swimming. At a distance of 6-8 m from the shore, the boy suddenly began to sink. The sister rushed to help her brother, but she could not save him and died herself.

The bodies of the dead were removed from the water by the Ministry of Emergency Situations. At night, an investigative-operational group worked at the scene. Forensic medical examinations have been ordered to establish the cause of death of the children. The Kopyl regional department of the Investigative Committee is conducting an inspection.

This is not the first time this summer when children from the capital died in the reservoirs of the Minsk region. The Investigative Committee reminds adults: being outside the city and especially near water bodies, one should not weaken attention and leave children unattended. The UK and the Ministry of Emergency Situations urge citizens to swim only in specially equipped places and not to enter the water while intoxicated .
