December 6, Minsk. Over the past weekend, there were 9 registered accidents, in which 10 people were injured. BelTA was informed about this by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

112 drivers were identified who were driving under the influence of alcohol . 431 drivers did not have the right to drive a vehicle. 452 drivers were held accountable for using summer tires on a car.

So, on December 4, at about 9.00 in the village of Prokopovichi, an 80-year-old driver of a Volkswagen car, according to preliminary information, lost control, drove off to the right side of the road and hit a pedestrian. The latter was hospitalized with injuries.

On December 5, at about 1.00 am, a 20-year-old driver in an Opel car, passing through a regulated pedestrian crossing at a traffic light, hit a man and a woman. According to preliminary information, they crossed the road at a red traffic light and were drunk. As a result of the collision, pedestrians were injured and were hospitalized in a health facility.

"In the "driver-pedestrian-road" chain, the pedestrian is the most unprotected. The use of reflective elements on clothing at night will allow drivers to see pedestrians in the headlights. The reflector should be attached to outerwear, backpacks, bags. It is recommended to place them from two sides, so that they are visible to drivers of both oncoming and passing vehicles. The State Traffic Inspectorate reminds motorists and pedestrians: strict observance of traffic rules will help to avoid accidents and save life and health," the Ministry of Internal Affairs added.
