Russia has proposed to postpone the introduction of the technical regulations of the EAEU on alcohol to 2024, the decision has not yet been made

December 2, Moscow. The Russian side proposed to postpone the introduction of the technical regulation of the Eurasian Economic Union on alcoholic products to 2024, a decision on this initiative has not yet been made. This was announced today following the meeting of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission, EEC official representative Iya Malkina, BelTA has learned.

“This was an initiative issue at the suggestion of the Russian Federation,” said Iya Malkina. “And since it was submitted in a fairly limited time frame, the representatives of the parties did not have time to work on this issue more deeply, to discuss it with the business community. It was decided to return to this issue additionally after the proposals have been worked out with the parties.

The EAEU technical regulation "On the safety of alcoholic products" was approved in December 2018 and should come into force on January 1, 2022.

The meeting of the EEC Council was held today in Moscow in person at the site of the Second Eurasian Congress, organized by the Eurasian Development Bank. The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Igor Petrishenko.
