
May 5, MINSK . The HEAD of the law enforcement and prevention department of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of the Minsk City Executive Committee, Sergei Gorokhov, recalled the security measures when visiting the festive events on May 9, BelTA has learned.
"On May 9, traditionally, the main festive events will be held in the central part of the city. This is a procession and laying flowers at the Victory Monument. Passengers will pass to the venue of the events through 26 checkpoints. More than a hundred checkpoints are provided so that everyone can come and visit this event. An information stand has been installed in front of each checkpoint indicating all substances and items that are prohibited from being brought in. This will significantly speed up the passage to the venue of the event, and there will be fewer queues to the storage room, "Sergey Gorokhov said.
For persons of a special category (veterans of the Great Patriotic War, pregnant women, citizens with young children, the disabled), separate checkpoints will be provided.
Citizens who carry prohibited items, as well as those who are in a state ofintoxicated , will not be allowed on the festive grounds. “Entrance to the venue with animals, bicycles, scooters, scooters and other means of personal mobility will also be prohibited. Non-alcoholic liquids in plastic transparent containers with a volume of no more than 0.5 liters will be allowed. - added the head of the department. - All checkpoints will be ready in advance for the passage of citizens .shopping facilities in the perimeter of the events will be limited until the end of the events. The launch to the gala concert will be through security checkpoints. There will be enough checkpoints. The event will end with fireworks at 23.00 in six places of the city. Security perimeters will be created for each of the six fireworks launching points. They will be cordoned off in advance by police officers and parking within the security perimeters will be excluded or limited.
