Carriers of counterfeit alcohol detained in the Gomel region

December 10, Gomel. In the Gomel region, carriers of counterfeit ALCOHOL tried to hide from persecution - they were detained, BelTA learned from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

In the Dobrush region, two obviously overloaded Audis and a VAZ accompanying them were seen coming from RUSSIA. At the request of police officers to stop, the drivers only increased their speed. The policemen reported the suspicious trinity to their colleagues, and the employees of the State traffic inspectorate, fighters of the OMON ATC went to intercept.

One "Audi" was blocked on the highway Gomel - Kobrin in the Rechitsa region. Police officers found 500 bottles of vodka without Belarusian excises in a car driven by a 24-year-old resident of Dobrush.

The other two cars separated. The VAZ turned in the direction of Rechitsa, and the Audi rushed further along the highway, speeding up to 200 km/h. In order not to endanger other road users, given the darkness and wet road, it was decided to stop the pursuit.

“At the same time, within an hour, the drivers and passengers of the hidden cars were identified and detained in Rechitsa. The accomplices managed to hide the Audi in the forest near the regional center. Law enforcement officers found 450 of the same bottles of alcohol in it,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.

The confiscated counterfeit is estimated at Br7.5 thousand.

Administrative protocols were drawn up against the detainees for violating traffic rules and disobeying the lawful demand of an official. They will also have to bear responsibility for the illegal movement of unmarked alcohol through the territory of Belarus.
