Robbery of jewelry "Pearl" in Grodno: the attacker was sentenced to 12 years in prison

"As established during the trial, the defendant, being in a state of alcoholic intoxication , in January 2022, while in the Zhemchuzhina Grodno store of Belyuvelirtorg OJSC, unlawfully took possession of jewelry worth over Br29 thousand. To achieve his goals, he threatened to use violence , dangerous to the life and health of the seller. He used a knife as a weapon of crime," the ministry said.

Based on the collected evidence, the man's involvement in fraudulent actions against two residents of Grodno was also established. Previously, a citizen was repeatedly prosecuted for theft, fraud and robbery.

Taking into account the evidence presented by the public prosecutor, the Leninsky District Court of Grodno issued a guilty verdict. On the basis of part 2 of article 209 and part 2 of article 207 of the Criminal Code, he was sentenced for cumulative crimes to a final sentence of imprisonment for a term of 12 years to be served in a correctional colony under a strict regime with a fine of 100 basic units.

The verdict has not entered into force, can be appealed and protested on appeal.
