December 5, Vitebsk. Over the weekend, more than 400 pedestrians were brought to administrative responsibility for traffic violations in the Vitebsk region. This was reported to a BelTA correspondent in the agitation and propaganda department of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.

"In total, 60 road traffic accidents with material damage were registered on the roads of the region over the past weekend, 24 of them occurred in the regional center. Traffic police officers detained 12 drivers in a state of intoxication and 28 lawless ones," the traffic police said.

More than 400 pedestrians were brought to administrative responsibility for violation of traffic rules. Over 180 of them did not use retroreflective elements at night, about 40 people were drunk.

40 drivers were held liable for the lack of winter tires on the weekend.

The traffic police of the Vitebsk region strongly recommends that drivers choose a safe speed and distance to the vehicle in front, be extremely careful while driving, and take into account weather and road conditions. "Pedestrians must strictly comply with the requirements of traffic rules and identify themselves with flickers at night," the agitation and propaganda department added.
