16-year-old teenagers beat up a Minsk resident they barely knew for no reason and filmed the crime on their phone

November 22, MINSK . 16-year-old college students usedALCOHOL in the apartment of a new acquaintance and for no apparent reason they began to beat the owner. The young people filmed what was happening on a mobile phone, then robbed the victim and disappeared. Details of the investigation of the criminal case with BELTA were shared in the information and public relations group of the USC for Minsk.

According to the case file, the night before the man met two young men on his way home. They started talking, and then decided to celebrate their acquaintance. The guys bought food and alcohol at the store and the three of them went to the Minsk resident’s apartment. Under the influence of alcohol, 16-year-old teenagers beat up a new acquaintance for no reason, kicking and punching various parts of his body with a bat they found in the apartment. Such a cynical trick was not enough for the suspects - they stole that same bat, a pocket knife and Br450. One of the guys filmed everything that happened with a mobile phone camera. When the victim began to scream and call for help, the defendants got scared and disappeared.

Police officers identified the attackers and detained them in the electric train carriage in which the minors were traveling home. The criminals turned out to be college sophomores. Previously, young people had already come to the attention of law enforcement officers: both were brought to administrative responsibility and are on preventive records with the internal affairs bodies. During the interrogation, the guys said that they came to the capital from the Brest region to take a walk around the city. They were unable to explain the motives for their unceremonious act. When studying the information stored on the mobile phone of one of the suspects, a video recording was discovered that showed them committing a similar crime.

Investigators opened a criminal case against the young people under Part 2 of Article 207 (robbery committed by a group of persons) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus. They have been detained and investigations are being carried out with their participation. The final legal assessment of the teenagers' actions will be given after the investigation is completed. Investigators will pay close attention to the reasons and conditions that contributed to the commission of the crime. The circumstances surrounding the sale of alcohol to minors will also be investigated.
